Saturday, August 21, 2010 Woodward Dream Cruise Fellow club member Warren Silverman is working to put together the ultimate cruise - a trip to the Woodward Dream Cruise. This once yearly cruise takes place the 3rd Saturday of August in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan. Last year saw 40,000 cars and 1.2 million spectators participate in this one day event. Ford Motor Company will have its own display area and there will be a "Mustang Alley" along the 16 mile long cruise route. You can check out this event at www.woodwarddreamcruise.com. Save the date, watch for more details and let's cruise to the Motor City!

Saturday, January 29th Karts Indoor Raceway Our annual return to Karts. Seven members plus friends and family enjoyed close quarters cart racing. Mark this on your calendar for next year - it's a blast!

Saturday, January 9th Annual Holiday Dinner Party at Milleridge Inn, Jericho, NY 60+ attended the annual formal dinner. The food was fantastic, the Inn was fully decked out for the holidays and all had a great time. Join us next year!

Sunday, November 8 Cruise to Montauk The final cruise of the season to "The End" saw over 30 cars (and their owners) meet up at the California Diner in Patchogue for breakfast and then head out to the lighthouse. It was a glorious November day; it was best weather we have ever had for the Montauk cruise! It was great to end the cruising season on such a high note after all the problems we had with rain this year.

Sunday, October 25 Second Annual MSCLI Poker Run 27 "players" in 21 cars joined in on a spectacular late October day. Stop one was Caliber Collision where Andy provided bagels and coffee. Stop two was L & B Lincoln Mercury. Stop three was Appel Auto Service where Kevin and Kathy provided coffee and awesome homemade cookies in the shapes of diamonds, hearts, clubs and spades. Stop four was Mike G's Perfection Auto Body where there was more coffee and donuts. Nobody was falling asleep at the wheel today! Stop five was Lucas Ford where we had a nice lunch an awards ceremony and everybody left with a pumpkin courtesy of Howie Lucas. Tommy @ T.J.'s Auto Body could not participate as a stop at the Poker Run but graciously donated two $50.00 gift cards.

Sunday, October 18 MSCLI cruise to the OBI

Sunday, October 4th L & B Lincoln Mercury MSCLI Mustang Show West Babylon, NY 60 plus cars came out on a glorious October day after the show was moved to the October 4 rain date. Thanks to all who attended, a big thanks to L&B Lincoln Mercury and thanks to all the volunteers who make these shows work.

Sunday, September 13th MSCLI Display at the Port Jefferson Village Center 53 cars were on display celebrating the introduction of the Mustang, the New York World's Fair and the opening of Shea Stadium. It was a beautiful day on the harbor in Port Jefferson. Thanks to all members who participated.

Saturday, August 22nd Annual MSCLI B-B-Q Lake Grove, NY Annual MSCLI B-B-Q hosted by club president, Carl Vosen. Members and their families brought their cars and their appetites to enjoy friendship and food!

Saturday, August 15th MSCLI Cruise to The Beach Hut at Cedar Beach Babylon, NY MSCLI cruise to the Beach Hut at Cedar Beach

Sunday, August 2nd MSCLI Cruise to Jamesport Vineyards Jamesport, NY MSCLI cruised to Jamesport Vineyards. Ten members met at the 7-11 at the LIE and Route 112 and cruised together to the Riverhead meeting location where we met up with the other participating club members. A final group of 23 cars (22 Mustangs and one Galaxy 500) made the short cruise to the vineyard from Riverhead. The rain held off all afternoon and it proved to be a very enjoyable and relaxing day with the members enjoying each other's company, the winery tour and wine tasting provided by the vineyard and lunch provided by the club. Unfortunately the trip home proved to be a wet one as everyone heading west ran into the rain at about exit 68 of the LIE. But a good time was had by all! (click here to view photo gallery)

Friday, July 24th MSCLI Cruise to The Beach Hut at Meschuett Beach Hampton Bays, NY MSCLI's Annual trip to the cruise night at Meschutt Beach in Hampton Bays, NY.

Saturday, July 4th Port Jefferson 4th of July Independence Day parade Port Jefferson, NY 15 cars turned out on a beautiful (yes, that's right, not even a hint of rain!) July 4th morning to participate in the parade. Thanks to all who attended!

Tuesday, June 23rd MSCLI Cruise to Bald Hill Cruise Night Farmingville, NY

Sunday, June 14th MSCLI / Lucas Ford Mustang and Steeda Stampede MSCLI's first show of the season. 90 owners braved the iffy early morning weather to make this show a success. After an ugly start it cleared up and dried up, turning out to be a beautiful day. Thanks to all who attended, thanks Lucas Ford and thanks to all the volunteers who made this show a success.

Sunday, June 14th Crusin' to the Stampede Mustang cruise to the MSCLI Lucas Ford Mustang and Steeda Stampede Show. 24 cars joined up at the two locations to cruise out to the show in spite of the morning rain.

Sunday, May 31st Orange County Mustang Show MSCLI’s first off island cruise of the season. We headed up to the Mustang Club of Orange County Mustang Show at Sunshine Ford in Newburg, NY. Nine of the twelve cars in our group took home trophies (out of 200 total cars) including the President's Trophy for overall best in show.

Sunday, May 3rd Spring Dust-off Cruise 31st Annual Queens County Farm House Meet - Antique Auto Show (AACA) / Flea Market / Food / Music, Queens County Farm Museum. Six members and one guest who saw the cruise on the web site braved the elements and went to the show. Our group made up one third of all the cars in the show! Hopefully there will be better weather next time.

Are your club dues due? All memberships are now due on January 1st. The cost join is $24 which includes the e-mailed newsletter. Now that we are up to date with our membership paperwork any member more than a few months overdue will not be receiving a newsletter or any other communications from us. We at MSCLI put a lot of work into this club and we want only the current active members to benefit from that effort and hard work. So if now is the time to renew your membership in the best Mustang club on Long Island, do it and be part of the in crowd.
